My first meal in Bangkok!

One of the first things I was excited about was the Thai silk and of course, Thai food. Upon my arrival at my hotel in Bangkok I went to the Thai restaurant on the river. I ordered this lovely appetizer and when they put it in front of me, well...it was clear that I was not sure what to do with it! The kind waiter casually sat beside me and showed me how to fold the leaf, and place the coconut, then the peanuts, shrimp, lime cubs and something that I cannot tell you what it was and then add the final sauce. Then, pop the whole thing in my mouth! Wow! What a production, I don't think I could have figured it out on my own but it was like nothing I have ever had before! Both in the flavor and in the production of it!

Looking forward to more tastes of Thailand!

Bangkok and Bad 80's tunes!

Hi All!

I am on my next adventure in Asia! This one starts in Bangkok! As I write this I am sitting in the hotel in Bangkok and am having a hard time not chuckling as the hotel band is playing their version of Donna Summers and a selection of 80's music! Of course I know every word to every song, however, it just takes me by surprise as I am in Bangkok and this isn't what I was expecting! Hah....just goes to show ya, right?

Having such a great time and the experiences with the culture and the people are never ending a will forever have an impact, how could it not?!

Gathering many ideas for well, let's see handbags, scarves, jewelry everything is so inspirational here, the lifestyle, the colors! Everything means something. I like that and hope this will translate into something special that we can all share together!

Thank you for all your notes of encouragement and inspiration. I am behind in the responses, I apologize but have not had time to respond to them on this trip. I read them, love hearing from all of you and the best way for me to keep in touch is to post on the blog. I will get to them individually upon my return.

In the meantime, do open your eyes, do smell the roses and do smile at strangers! It does make a difference!

Peace from around the world!

xoxo - Sally

Selamat datang!

Selamat is the greeting in Bali that means, 'May your action/time be blessed'. May I help in your time today to do that by sharing my life changing experience here with some photo's. Words would not do justice to explain the experience I am having here in Bali with the people, the culture, the Hindu experience. I am happy to say I have a new Balinese family here......my friends are so warm and willing to share their life here with me. I hope these photo's can give you a glimpse into this for you.

My toes are touching the sands, hills and beaches here in Bali!

Selamat tinggal!

Greetings from Bali!!!!!

So what does a gal do when she is unemployed, looking for the reasons things happen in life? She goes to Bali of course!

Sorry to be so elusive but I have trekked off to a fascinating part of the world! I want to and will share more but am trying to figure out how to download photo's! It's beautiful! The landscape, the people, everything! I look forward to sharing this experience with you. I miss all of you and thank you for your emails filled with good energy!

When I have more time I will download photo's and share with you.
